URALCHEM takes part in IFA Council

Moscow – 8 December, 2010. Top-managers and specialists from URALCHEM, OJSC took part in the 36th meeting of the Council of International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA) that took place from 2 until 4 December in Deli. The largest mineral fertilizer producers such as Yara, Potash Corp., Mosaic Corp., Qafco and others took part in the meeting.

Key objective of the Enlarged Council was to analyze IFA work in the previous year and approve plans for the year 2011. Spe cial reports by IFA members dealt with climate issues, trends and prospects concerning raw material and energy supplies in the industry. Chairpersons of IFA committees made detailed reports on agriculture development prospects, trends and forecasts in the development of mineral fertilizer industry in the closest five years. In particular, a lot of attention was paid on how to make application of mineral fertilizers more effective and find new methods to increase the level of crop yield.

Dmirty Mazepin, Vice-President of the International Fertilizer Association in the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Chairman of the Board of Directors of URALCHEM, OJSC also took part in the conference and said: “IFA council is one of the most respectable international mineral fertilizer forums. At the meetings we manage to discuss vital issues and prospects of the mineral fertilizer industry in close connection with the development of the world economy”.

IFA member-companies come from all types of industries related to production and distribution of all types of mineral fertilizers, respective raw materials and intermediate products. Members of the association also include organizations that do agricultural research.
