Uralchem pays special attention to the protection of air and strives to reduce emission of air pollutants. Its facilities regularly improve technological processes and treatment plants, carry out production and analytical control of pollutant emissions and comply with established emission standards. During the period of unfavorable meteorological conditions, facilities are obliged to perform actions to control pollutants emission.

As part of industrial environmental control, specialists from accredited laboratories monitor compliance with the standards for maximum permissible emissions of pollutants at emission sources and monitor the state of ambient air along the borders of the sanitary protection zones of the facilities and in the residential areas. The largest share of pollutants is emitted by the facilities producing ammonia, non-concentrated nitric acid, ammonium nitrate, nitrogen phosphate, complex mineral fertilizers, urea, and extraction phosphoric acid.

In order to protect the air, the Company’s facilities carry out the following key measures:
  • improve technological processes
  • repair and upgrade technological equipmen
  • reconstruct and upgrade gas-cleaning plants
