Dmitry Mazepin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of URALCHEM, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uralkali, member of the Bureau of the Board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) takes part in the international Summit Russia – Africa which takes place on the 23-25 of October in Sochi, Russia. The forum is scheduled to participate in a plenary meeting with the President of the Russian Federation, a speech at the session "Industrial cooperation: potential growth points" and meetings with the heads of African states.

The main task of the forum is to determine the vector of development of trade and economic relations between Russia and the countries of the African continent. The participants will discuss issues related to improving cooperation between regions, projects and areas requiring financial assistance and share their own experience of entering African markets and doing business.

Dmitry Mazepin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of URALCHEM, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Uralkali, member of the Bureau of the Board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP):

"Africa has unique opportunities for the development of the region. Our company is already becoming a base partner on the African continent both in terms of technology exports and in terms of product exports. Today, we supply fertilizers to Zimbabwe and Zambia, and we are considering the construction of a logistic hub in the future. I hope that at the forum the state will indicate a clear position that Russian business is going to Africa and is ready to help in its development."

On the eve of the summit, Dmitry Mazepin held talks with President of Mozambique Filipe Jacinto Nyusi. The port of Beira is located in the country, through which URALCHEM supplies mineral fertilizers. Dmitry Mazepin also met with Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Also, other African leaders are scheduled to hold talks during the summit.

The Russia – Africa Economic Forum is an important and strategic step towards the establishment of effective trade and economic relations between the Russian Federation and African countries. The event is attended by representatives of Russian and African business and government agencies. The forum is held for the first time.
