Moscow, Russia – 28 February, 2014. In 2013, the URALCHEM Group increased funding for social and charitable programmes to 288 million roubles. It was an increase of 24% compared with 2012. Compared with 2011, the volume of allocated funds increased by more than three times.

Support for social, charitable and cultural programmes is an integral part of the company’s activities. URALCHEM implements projects aimed at the development of the education system, support for socially disadvantaged groups, improvement of living conditions, health and promotion of sports. The projects are mainly carried out in those regions where the company’s production facilities are located: in the Moscow, Kirov and Perm Regions and in Latvia.

The biggest funding for social programmes was provided by the company’s largest plant in Kirovo-Chepetsk, which amounted to 140 million roubles. One of the most significant projects was the purchase of school buses for 19 orphanages in the Kirov Region who look after more than 1,700 orphans and children left without parental care. A total of 15 million roubles was allocated for the purchase. This project was a continuation of the initiative by URALCHEM’s Chairman of the Board Dmitry Mazepin which provided for 70 cars for needy large families in the Kirov Region in 2012.

The company’s plants located in the Perm Region spent more than 55 million roubles on charitable projects. The plant in Voskresensk in the Moscow Region spent 21 million roubles on sponsorship and charity. 14 million roubles was the amount spent on the projects of the support of Russian culture and charity in Latvia. The URALCHEM company itself paid 58 million roubles for social and charitable programmes.
