About Uralchem

Established in 2007, Uralchem (a part of the Uralchem Group) is one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of nitrogen, potash and complex fertilisers.

In Russia, the Company is the biggest domestic producer and supplier of ammonium nitrate and potash.

The Company has facilities available for production of over 3 million tonnes of ammonia, 3 million tonnes of ammonium nitrate, 1.2 million tonnes of urea and 1 million tonnes of phosphate and compound fertilisers per year. The product range is represented by more than a hundred different products split between base, advanced and premium categories.

In 2023 the Uralchem produced 22.4% of Russian ammonium nitrate, 15% of ammonia, 14.3% of nitrogen fertilisers, 11.3% of urea and other fertilisers.

Uralchem’s high-tech operations aim to improve agricultural efficiency amid growing global population and shortage of plough lands.

Among the Company’s priorities are the supply of high-quality mineral fertilisers to domestic agricultural producers, the promotion of expert support programmes to introduce new plant nutrition and soil fertility techniques, and the delivery of customised solutions to industrial clients.

The Company’s agronomy experts work in most regions of Russia. One of the customer support tools is the Agrolaboratory, which is located at the KCKK site.

Digital Agro, a subsidiary of Uralchem, provides farmers with digital tools and services enabling them to make data-driven decisions, apply fertilisers more efficiently and improve sustainability of their businesses.

Another subsidiary, Uralchem Innovation, specialises in developing, testing and implementing high-tech solutions for the agroindustrial sector. The subsidiary’s assets include a chemical laboratory, an agricultural laboratory and a pilot plant processing vegetable protein.

Uralchem’s ESG Strategy envisages a systemic approach to the development of sustainability practices and the creation of a foundation for further transformation of business. The Company’s activities are based on the key principles of sustainable development – resource efficiency, industrial safety, and social responsibility.

Uralchem’s main competitive advantage is production flexibility, which enables the Company to maintain an efficient operating balance to match current demand. In addition to standard fertilisers (ammonium nitrate and urea), Uralchem’s product range offers innovative products that reflect the latest trends in the global fertiliser market.

The Company utilises a wide network of distribution partners and fertiliser storage facilities. Its own fleet of rail wagons and port facilities assure reliable and timely supply of products.

The key raw material used in the production of nitrogen fertilisers is natural gas supplied under long-term contracts with Gazprom PJSC.
