Uralchem-Uralkali is pleased to announce that a humanitarian shipment of 20,000 MT of NPK (Nitrogen Phosphorus Potassium) is cleared to be loaded onto a World Food Programme (WFP) - chartered ship for transport to Malawi via Mozambique as early as the week commencing November 21, 2022.

We wish to thank the UN and the WFP, specifically Executive Director David Beasley, for their unwavering commitment to addressing the urgent food crisis facing developing countries due to a lack of fertilizer. We also express our gratitude to the governments of the Netherlands, Mozambique and Malawi for their cooperation. It is only by uniting the humanitarian community, governments, producers, exporters, logistical and financial institutions, and local leadership that we can hope to avert catastrophe and provide stable food supply where it is needed the most. Fertilizer is the foundation on which sustainable growth and supply are based.

Uralchem-Uralkali is committed to donating 260,000 MT of mineral fertilizers to developing countries free of charge, including the costs of loading, shipping and insurance for the first lot of 20,000 MT transported under the auspices of WFP. As part of Uralchem-Uralkali’s contribution to addressing the global food crisis, a first shipment of NPK has already arrived in Togo for further distribution in Burkina Faso. We are looking forward to the first shipment done in collaboration with the United Nations arriving in Malawi as soon as possible.
