Deferment for Uralchem

Today, as banks are reluctant to grant loans and set high interest rates, Uralchem, the agrochemical holding company arranged the repayment of a part of their credit to be put off by 3 years. So, for debt servicing this year the company will need 130 million dollars instead of 463 million. And Uralchem even hopes to reduce this amount too. Experts say that banks made concessions because agrochemical industry was one of the first to show the signs of recovery.

Apatite to supply VMF with the feedstock

UralChem posts 9M 2008 Net Profit of $363.3 million

Russian Nitrogen and Phosphate fertilizer producer, UralChem, has posted a 9M 2008 Net profit of $363.3 million under IFRS. The bottom line result is well up from the $18.4 million posted over the same period 2007, and came on the back of Revenues of $1.62 Billion, up from 305 million for 9M 2007, with EBITDA coming in at $643 million, up from $208 million in the corresponding period 2007.

Renova shares its chemicals

Dmitriy Mazepin’s Urachem purchased 7.5% shares of Togliattiazot (ToAZ), the largest independent fertilizer producer from Renova Group. According to the market quotations the deal could amount to $225 mln. ToAZ started experiencing problems right after Renova entered its capital in 2005, but now, according to the Group, the conflict is over. Analysts believe that Dmitriy Mazepin will try to increase his interest in ToAZ by purchasing the shares from Vladimir Makhlay, the major shareholder.

URALCHEM, an agrochemical holding created at the end of last year published its first full year 2007 IFRS consolidated financial results. The Company’s revenue increased by 51% to $700 mln, with net profit increased by 159% to $91 million. Open Joint Stock Company Associated chemical company UralChem announced that it made long-term agreements with Gazprom OJSC and NOVATEK OJSC for gas supplies for the period until 2012 inclusive.
