In August 2007, KCCW acquired a 20-year subsoil license in an open auction
by the Russian government for the development and production of the Sordinsky
Plot.
The Sordinsky Plot is located at the Vyatsko-Kamsky phosphate deposit in the
Kirov region and is estimated to hold approximately 28 million tonnes of
phosphate ore according to Russian geological standards.
The Sordinsky Plot has an existing open-pit mine with infrastructure dating
to the Soviet period, including internal railways, an ore grinding and drying
unit, a chemical laboratory and a depot.
The development of the mine and a facility for the extraction and
reprocessing of phosphate ore will require significant investment. Until
the project is economically viable, we do not plan to develop this
plot.
