We pay a lot of attention to the issues
of industrial safety, creation of safe working conditions
for our employees and health protection
of the citizens living in the regions where
the company’s activities are carried out.
For these purposes there’s a new management system being
incorporated in addition to the existing systems.
The new system is based on the world best standard
in industrial safetyOSHAS 18001. In 2009 Bureau Veritas
Certification , a recognized international certification authority issued a
certificate of compliance of the labour protection and industrial safety
management system with the requirements of OSHAS 18001:2007 to Azot, OJSC.
Labor protection and industrial safety policy
In order to comply with the highest industrial
safety standards , the company is following the industrial
safety policy providing for a set of actions to secure
a safe production process and reduce
the risk of emergency situations which can be
harmful or cause damage to the workers’ or citizens’
health.
This policy is based on the following principles:
- The production activities
are to meet the requirements and standards
set by the law;
- There should be a balance between the interests
of business and the public when developing and implementing
the investment policy in part of the production
safety;
- The production safety is to be regularly controlled
on all levels inside the company.
Considering this, the company’s activities in the sphere
of the use of natural resources are aimed
at taking actions to launch modern systems for securing
industrial safety and reducing the risk of emergency
situations.
The company is planning to make considerable investments
for these purposes in the coming years.
Projects on labor protection and industrial safety
The company continuously carries out necessaty evaluations and internal
and external audits to ensure that the company’s activities are
in line with current legislation
and the high standards of industrial safety
and risk control set by (BS) OSHAS 18001:2007.
Labor protection and industrial safety management
For the purpose of industrial safety control the labor
protection and industrial safety department has been created
and is adequately functioning.
The department’s activities are based on the current
legislation of the Russian Federation, internal regulations
and management system, based on the world best industrial
safety standards , such as OSHAS 18001:2007.
The main functions of the labor protection
and industrial safety department are:
- Planning and arranging activities to secure industrial
safety;
- Development and explanation of the corporate
industrial safety policy ;
- Internal monitoring and control of compliance with
industrial safety rules.
