An environmental service department has been created
and is adequately functioning in order to manage
the environmental protection.
The service’s activities are based on the current
legislation of the Russian Federation, on internal regulations,
and on the management systems based
on the best practices in the field
of environmental management such ISO 14001. In particular,
international certification authorities have issued a certificate of compliance
with international standard ISO 14001: 2004 with regard to the environmental
management system of Azot, OJSC.
The key functions of the environmental management
department are:
- Planning and organization of the activities for
the harmonious exploitation of natural resources
and environmental safety;
- Development and explanation of the corporate environmental
policy;
- Internal environmental monitoring and control.
